I've had Tundra for more than half of my life.
Tonight is Tundra's last night. Dad left me a voicemail this morning, saying that he was on his way to our Valley Center property to find a nice place for her burial. I spoke with him this afternoon and the tumor in the side of her face has broken the skin on her cheek. He asked me if I wanted to see her again, or if I just wanted to remember her the way she was when I last saw her. I can't just let my baby mama go without saying goodbye again. So tomorrow after my classes, dad's going to bring the dogs down and I'll say a final "goodbye, I love you" to Tundra. Then he'll take her to be put to rest.
It's been a wonderful 11 years with the most beautiful dog I will ever see. She's been stubborn, she's been sweet, she's been stupid, she's been cunning, but most of all she has been a good friend and mother.
Tundra will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
